Past Projects

The Auxiliary donated the “Highway Patrol Memorial Monument”. A picture of the monument and facts can be seen on our Memorial Page.

The Auxiliary purchases items for the Highway Patrol Training Academy. Some of the past purchases have included a satellite disc, a Big Screen TV, recliner chairs, an ice machine, and display cases.

Each year the Auxiliary awards three scholarships in honor of its founding members, Eileen Blalock, Frances Howell, and Edna Lemmond. All members, members’ children, or members' grandchildren are eligible to apply. Selection is by random drawing at the Fall Convention.

The Auxiliary provides members of the North Carolina Highway Patrol support in many ways. We believe “A Trooper should never stand alone”. We donate items or provide refreshments for them on holidays, commemorate events, and special occasions. We show them our appreciation for what they do on a regular basis.

The Auxiliary provides assistance, support, and encouragement to Highway Patrol Families in need. We strive to help those that are going through trying times. We have had fund raisers for families that have lost love ones and for others that have been victims of disaster; house fire, hurricane, and flood.

The Auxiliary has made donations to numerous charities in memory of Auxiliary Members and Troopers:  Parents Against Teen Suicide (PATS), the North Carolina Zoo, the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund, and many others.

To raise funds we rely on our Members. Members have latch-hooked a patrol patch wall hanging and quilted special quilts to be sold. We have hosted dinners, receptions, and pig-pickings. We have compiled, published, and sold cookbooks. We have sold thousands of t-shirts, crystal items, note pads, tile plaques, tile matchboxes, watches, clocks, memorial statues, potholders, throws, key chains, hats, and jewelry items. It takes lots of hard work and dedication but we that “Stand with our Troopers” are proud to be here and are happy to do what we can.

Through the years the members of the North Carolina Highway Patrol Auxiliary have shared so much. We have all made numerous friends and memories. Our wish is to spread throughout the entire Patrol Family. We look forward to meeting new spouses and welcome each one of them to join our unique and special Highway Patrol State Auxiliary Family.
